Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is one of India’s most prestigious and historic institutions of higher education, known for its rich legacy, academic excellence, and inclusive ethos. Established in 1875 by the visionary educationist and social reformer Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College, AMU became a full-fledged university in 1920.
