The Babu Banarasi Das Institute of Technology and Management (BBDITM) formerly known as Babu Banarasi Das National Institute of Technology and Management (BBDNITM), AKTU Code: 054 is a prominent educational institution in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was established in 1998 under the Babu Banarasi Das Educational Society, which is named after the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Late Babu Banarasi Das Ji. The institute aims to provide high-quality education in the fields of engineering and other professional studies. BBDITM is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various disciplines of Engineering and Management. Popular programs include B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) in branches like Computer Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML), Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science),Information Technology, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication and Electrical Engineering. In 2023, three departments CSE, ECE, IT at BBDITM received NBA accreditation.
The BBDITM campus is well-equipped with modern infrastructure, including state-of-the-art laboratories, smart classrooms, libraries, sports facilities, auditorium, hostels, and seminar halls etc.The campus is designed to offer a conducive environment for academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities. BBDITM boasts a highly qualified faculty with significant academic and industrial experience, fostering a culture of research and innovation among students. The institution emphasizes research activities and encourages students and faculty to engage in projects, research publications, and conferences. Babu Banarasi Das Ji, a born nationalist,in his early youth, joined hands with Mahatma Gandhi & Jawahar Lal Nehru in the movement to free India from the clutches of British rule.
During his long political career, he worked as a Minister, Speaker and Member of Parliament (both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). He also held the position of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. His entire life was devoted to secure the dignity of individuals through selfless service to mankind. He was a humanitarian who enabled people to realize their goals. He never believed in surrendering to any forces. Even in the face of death, he would not give in. “Man doth not yield himself to angels, not even unto death, utterly, saved, by the weakness of his feeble will.” Babuji always led and inspired people through his own example, leaving behind a legacy for future generations. We are privileged to inherit that legacy and perpetuate his memory.
