We are Bhai Mastan Singh Public School at Pakka Kalan in the Talwandi Sabo area of Bathinda district, Punjab. Our school community is rooted in this local setting and in an educational vision that connects intellectual development with social, emotional, physical and moral growth. Founded through the vision of Mahant Kashmir Singh Ji, our institution recognises that children bring individual abilities and needs to school. We aim to provide an environment in which curiosity and creative thought can develop alongside understanding and compassion.
Our academic resources include Science, Computer, Language and Social Science laboratories, together with a library. The Social Science laboratory uses maps, globes, pictures and charts to make places, relationships and historical or civic ideas more accessible. These resources allow pupils to work with representations of the world and connect classroom explanations with practical activities. The other specialist spaces provide different forms of enquiry, from language practice and digital work to scientific observation.
Experiential learning is part of our approach, particularly in Mathematics, Science and English. We place importance on connecting concepts with situations children can recognise and investigate. Curiosity can lead to a question, an activity can make an idea visible, and reflection can help a learner explain what has been understood. This progression supports conceptual clarity and the development of independence. It also recognises that learning involves interaction, challenge and feedback as well as the presentation of information.
Our school has introduced scholarship support for deserving and meritorious students, reflecting the importance of keeping educational opportunities open. Communication with families is another part of the school community, helping connect a child’s learning at school with the support available at home. We value participation across differences in social, economic, linguistic and cultural background. Our identity brings together a Bathinda district location, practical learning resources and a commitment to the development of the whole child. We see education as preparation for continued learning and for responsible participation in society, with knowledge, confidence and care for others developing together.
