CIPET, the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology, is a Government of India autonomous institution working under the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. The institute is focused on education, skill development, technology support, research, and technical services in petrochemicals, plastics, and related industries. CIPET has established a national network of academic and technical centres across India, including the Institute of Petrochemicals Technology (IPT) at Raipur and the Centre for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS) at Korba.

CIPET IPT Raipur is located in the Industrial Area of Bhanpuri, near Urkura Railway Station in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The centre provides technical education and training in areas related to petrochemical engineering, plastics technology, processing, testing, and associated industrial applications. It also supports industries through technical infrastructure and testing facilities, including facilities for plastic materials and products.

CIPET CSTS Korba is located at Education Hub, Syahimudi, Post Gopalpur, via Jamnipali, Korba, Chhattisgarh. The centre focuses particularly on skill development and technical support, offering short-term and skill development programmes related to plastics processing, manufacturing, testing, quality control, mould making, machinery maintenance, CNC operations, and product and mould design.

The CSTS Korba centre offers a range of skill development programmes with different entry requirements and durations. Courses include Injection Moulding Machine Operations, Film Extrusion Machine Operations, Blow & Roto Moulding Machine Operations, Plastics Recycling Machine Operations, Plastics Pipe Fitting and Joining Operations, Testing & Quality Control for Plastics Materials & Products, Plastics Mould Manufacturing, and Plastics Product and Mould Design.
