GITAM (Deemed to be University) - Visakhapatnam Campus

We are GITAM’s Visakhapatnam campus, located at Gandhi Nagar, Rushikonda, in Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1980, this is the university’s main campus and the original setting from which GITAM developed its multidisciplinary academic community. The campus brings together schools and institutes spanning business, engineering, computer science, science, pharmacy, architecture, law, humanities, health sciences and other fields. Teaching, research and student life take place within a coastal campus environment that supports interaction across disciplines.

GITAM School of Business at Visakhapatnam traces its academic work to 1988. The school provides undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral education in business and management. Its academic areas include finance and accounting, entrepreneurship, marketing, international business, operations and supply chain, organisational development and human resources, and information systems. These areas allow students to examine organisations from strategic, technological, financial and human perspectives rather than treating management as a single isolated subject.

Our Information Systems area connects management education with the technologies used to analyse, organise and improve business activity. The Visakhapatnam campus offers doctoral study in Information Systems and includes the subject within its MBA academic structure. Relevant themes include data analytics, artificial intelligence, information security, enterprise systems, digital strategy and the use of technology in organisational decision-making. This academic setting supports both theoretical enquiry and applied discussion of how digital systems affect markets, operations and institutions.

The School of Business combines classroom learning with case-based work, industry engagement, internships, immersion experiences and research. Its academic mission includes enriching the learning environment, producing scholarship that informs policy and practice, and pursuing initiatives with an inclusive social impact.
