About Indian School Khasab

We are Indian School Khasab, a community school in the Musandam Governorate of the Sultanate of Oman. Our school began on 30 December 1989 with fourteen students and three teachers. That small beginning grew from the educational needs of Indian families living in Khasab. We continue to serve this expatriate community through a school experience that maintains a connection with Indian education while belonging to the distinctive cultural and geographical setting of Musandam.

We follow the CBSE curriculum and hold affiliation number 6630289. Our provision extends from Balvatika through the secondary years, giving children a continuous academic pathway as they develop language, numeracy and subject understanding. This progression allows early learning to build towards the more demanding reading, reasoning and independent work of secondary education. Our motto, Kindled to Enlighten, reflects the importance we attach to knowledge, understanding and the capacity to contribute positively to others.

Our facilities include science and computer laboratories, a football turf and a kindergarten play area. These spaces support different aspects of development. Practical science and digital learning complement classroom study, while sport and play give children opportunities to strengthen coordination, confidence and relationships. The separate attention to younger children’s play recognises that the earliest stages of education need a different rhythm and environment from the later school years. Activities and the arts also form part of the wider educational experience.

We place curiosity, creativity and character alongside academic learning. Our educational outlook encourages children to think, express ideas and develop consideration for the people around them. Value education and compassion are part of this approach, connecting knowledge with conduct in daily life. As a school serving a close-knit overseas community, we understand the importance of continuity, belonging and communication with families. Our identity brings together the Indian curriculum, the shared efforts that established the school in 1989, and an ongoing commitment to children growing up in Khasab.
