We are Jagran Public School, Varanasi, a coeducational English-medium CBSE school established in 2015. Our first academic session began in 2015–16. We belong to the Jagran Education Foundation community, whose wider educational work is associated with the Puranchandra Gupta Smarak Trust. Our school connects the cultural setting of Varanasi with an educational approach that brings together academic study, contemporary technology and enduring personal values.
The Jagran educational tradition has developed through several institutions. The Puranchandra Gupta Smarak Trust was established in 1987, and Puranchandra Vidyaniketan in Kanpur opened in 1991. The Jagran Education Foundation followed in 2005. Our Varanasi school forms part of that continuing educational journey. This institutional background gives us a connection with a wider community of schools while our own campus serves the needs and aspirations of families in and around Varanasi.
Our academic provision extends to senior secondary education within the CBSE framework. Digital and smart-classroom resources support the presentation and exploration of ideas, complementing the work of reading, discussion, writing and practical study. We place importance on connecting technological resources with a clear educational purpose. The aim is to help pupils develop understanding and confidence in using knowledge, rather than treating technology as an end in itself. Academic preparation is accompanied by attention to the wider development of the learner.
Our green campus and hostel provision create a setting that includes both day-school and residential experiences. Shared routines, activities and the everyday life of a school community contribute to pupils’ personal growth alongside their lessons. The location in Varanasi gives this experience a distinctive cultural context: a city with a long history of learning, thought and artistic expression. We seek to bring that sense of tradition into conversation with modern education. Our identity therefore rests on the combination of a recognised curriculum, a wider educational foundation, contemporary learning resources and a local environment that connects knowledge with culture and values.
