About Jai Hind High School and Junior College

We are Jai Hind High School and Junior College in Pimpri, Pune. Our secondary-school provision is complemented by junior-college study in Science and Commerce, giving learners a pathway from school subjects towards more specialised education. English-medium learning forms part of our institutional setting.

Our institution belongs to Jai Hind Sindhu Education Trust, whose origins lie in educational support for children from displaced Sindhi families after Partition. The organisation was formerly known as the Poona Refugee Relief Committee and took its present name in 1989. Education remains its central purpose, with institutions spanning early childhood, primary and secondary school, junior college and higher education in commerce.

The Trust’s educational community is rooted in Pimpri, Pune. Its institutions share a campus history that includes buildings dating to 1949 and land used for classrooms and playgrounds. The wider group developed over time, with pre-primary provision beginning in 1961, primary education in 1962 and commerce degree education in 1983. This continuity gives the community a connection across generations of learners and families.

The Trust’s approach includes support for academically capable students from financially constrained backgrounds. It does not seek donations as a condition of admission, and its trustees serve without remuneration. These arrangements reflect a service-oriented educational purpose. The institutions have distinct academic roles, but share an interest in access, responsible management and the development of students who can contribute to society.

Our junior-college Science and Commerce sections form distinct next steps after secondary education. They allow learners to build greater depth in a chosen academic direction while remaining connected with the wider Jai Hind institutional community.

Our place within this community connects formal study with a longer history of educational service. Children and young people progress through different stages with increasing expectations for knowledge, independence and judgement. The relationship between institution, family and local community remains central. We see education as both the development of individual ability and a means of strengthening the wider social environment in which learners live.
