Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Bathinda which was established in the year 1994-95 has grown leaps and bounds in a short span of time & carved a niche for itself in the region of Punjab in the field of education. It is a co-educational residential school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from class 6th to 12th. Admission here is on the basis of selection test conducted every year. The school is situated in the lap of Mother Nature and housed in an imposing modern building which has a magnificent library with a stock of about 5000+ books, well equipped Science Labs with projectors, Computer Lab, Samsung Smart classrooms, well ventilated classrooms, Playground, provision for indoor games as well as outdoor games etc. One of the important features of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme is the scheme of exchange of students from one Navodaya Vidyalaya in a particular linguistic region to another Vidyalaya in a different linguistic region to promote understanding of the diversity and pluratity of India’s culture and people. According to the Scheme 30% of children from one Navodaya Vidyalaya are migrated to another Vidyalaya at class IX level.“Being residential schools, a huge responsibility lies on the shoulders of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to cater the needs of the children from rural background by imparting them modern quality education so that they may come at par with the counterparts from the urban backdrop.
