The school is run by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Kendriya Vidyalaya Chamera-1 was established in the year 1992. The school offers education from Class I to XII with Science, Arts and Science. The school has a spacious two storied building and well equipped classrooms, well equipped Science laboratories, Maths laboratory, Computer laboratories, LCD room, library and a developed playground. Apart from imparting quality education, students are provided ample opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities including sports. Students participate in various competitions from class, school to cluster level, regional, national and international levels. To provide for all round development of the personality of the children and to inculcate in them the spirit of patriotism, national integration and universal brotherhood and thus make them better citizens of the country. The school is committed to meet the challenges in education through effective and innovative pedagogical practices. Students are being prepared for the 21st century by inculcating various things in them. Skills such as creative and critical thinking skills, communication skills, decision making skills, interpersonal skills etc. Implementation of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in primary and secondary education as per NEP-2020, interdisciplinary approach, following child-centred approach, multilingual system for holistic development and experiential learning are integral parts of education

Mission and Key Objectives

  1. To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education;
  2. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education;
  3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc.
  4. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
  5. To provide, establish, endow, maintain, control and manage schools, hereinafter called the ‘Kendriya Vidyalaya’ for the children of transferable employees of the Government of India, floating population and others including those living in remote and undeveloped locations of the country and to do all acts and things necessary for providing a conducive atmosphere in schools.

Salient Features

  1. Common text-books and bilingual medium of instruction for all Kendriya Vidyalayas.
  2. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education.
  3. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are co-educational, composite schools.
  4. Sanskrit is taught in class VI – VIII.
  5. The quality of teaching is kept high by an appropriate teacher-pupil ratio.
