The KV No2 Balasore started in the Govt. building of Multipurpose Cyclone Centre cum Godown in Ganeswarpur on 10th MAY 2017.

Mr.krishan Kumar, Assistant Comissioner Of Ro Bbsr announced the opening of school and Admission procedure was going on from 11th May to 12th June 2017 in classes from I to V as per the admission guidelines of KVS.

The school was inaugurated by Sh.Ananta Das Minister of Education, Odisha on 16th June 2017. The Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Ro Bbsr, District collector (Chairman of school) and local MLA were also present there.

At first this school was started with students of classes 1 to 5, 5 deputed teachers, 2 Contractual teachers, 1 sub staff with deputed Principal in charge from different KV.

The strength of each class as per KVS was near about 40 with 10 RTE students in class I.The physical facilities like drinking water system, furniture, blackboard, musical and sound system are procured one by one for the beneficial use of the children.

Mission and Key Objectives

  1. To cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-military personnel by providing a common programme of education;
  2. To pursue excellence and set the pace in the field of school education;
  3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc.
  4. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of “Indianness” among children.
  5. To provide, establish, endow, maintain, control and manage schools, hereinafter called the ‘Kendriya Vidyalaya’ for the children of transferable employees of the Government of India, floating population and others including those living in remote and undeveloped locations of the country and to do all acts and things necessary for providing a conducive atmosphere in schools.

Salient Features

  1. Common text-books and bilingual medium of instruction for all Kendriya Vidyalayas.
  2. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education.
  3. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are co-educational, composite schools.
  4. Sanskrit is taught in class VI – VIII.
  5. The quality of teaching is kept high by an appropriate teacher-pupil ratio.
  6. No tuition fee for boys up to class VIII, girls up to class XII and SC/ST students and children of KVS employees.
