About Manghanmal Udharam College of Commerce
We are Manghanmal Udharam College of Commerce in Pimpri, Pune, an institution of Jai Hind Sindhu Education Trust. Established in 1983 as Jai Hind College of Commerce, we developed as a single-faculty commerce college and received permanent affiliation to the University of Pune in 1994. We are affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University and have held Sindhi linguistic-minority status since our inception.
Our academic provision includes undergraduate and postgraduate commerce education. The programme range includes B.Com., M.Com. and business-management study, with the undergraduate management programme now described as B.Com. in Business Management, formerly BBA. English is the medium of instruction. This focus gives students a pathway through the concepts, practices and analytical work associated with commerce and management, with opportunities to continue into more advanced study.
Our educational purpose connects academic development with a liberal and progressive outlook. We aim to help students become intellectually capable and socially responsible, with the confidence to participate in a competitive professional environment. Industry-academia interaction, research activity and seminars form part of the wider institutional setting. Student-development, cultural, sporting, NCC and NSS activities provide additional ways to participate and contribute.
Our student services include a competitive-examination cell, cultural association and online library resources. These complement the commerce curriculum by supporting independent preparation, participation and access to information beyond the immediate requirements of a class.
Library services include physical collections and online resources, supporting independent reading and academic work. Student counselling, scholarship arrangements and policies for safety and wellbeing form part of the support surrounding formal study. Our college belongs to a Trust with a long history of educational service in Pimpri, linking primary and secondary schooling with higher education. The combination of a focused commerce curriculum, university affiliation and a service-oriented institutional background shapes our identity. We seek to help learners develop knowledge, judgement and the capacity to contribute constructively to their communities and chosen fields.
