About Us

P M Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3, Morar Cantt, Gwalior originated in J.V. Bhopal area in July 1980 with 500 students and a few members with temporary staff. Within limited infrastructure it progressed on its path by leaps and bounds in all arenas, in 1994 the school got a permanent building which was sanctioned in 1986. Today it is one of the most sought after schools in the region. Currently it is running with 1600+ students under the able guidance of 55 dedicated teachers.

Mission and main objectives

Mission and main objectives of KVS

  1. To meet the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-Military personnel by providing a common programme of education.
  2. To achieve excellence and set the pace in the field of school education.
  3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc.
  4. To develop the spirit of national integration and create a feeling of “Indianness” among children.
  5. To provide, establish, support, maintain, control and manage schools, hereinafter referred to as 'Kendriya Vidyalayas', for the children of transferable employees of the Government of India, temporary population and others including those residing in remote and underdeveloped places in the country and to do all acts and things necessary to promote such schools.

Key Features

  1. Common textbooks and bilingual medium of instructions for all Kendriya Vidyalayas.
  2. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education.
  3. All Kendriya Vidyalayas are co-educational, comprehensive schools.
  4. Sanskrit is taught from class VI to VIII.
  5. The quality of teaching is kept high by an appropriate teacher-student ratio.
  6. No tuition fee for boys up to class VIII, girls up to class XII, SC/ST students and children of KVS employees.
