We are Prakash Higher Secondary School in Ahmedabad, established in 1971 by the Prakash Trust. Our school provides coeducational English-medium education within the CBSE framework. We are a religious minority institution with an educational outlook that connects intellectual development with moral, aesthetic, physical and cultural growth. Our senior secondary provision includes Science and Commerce, giving older students recognised academic pathways towards further study.
The ideals of truth, beauty and goodness shape our understanding of education. Truth connects learning with careful thought and an honest search for understanding. Beauty recognises the value of creativity, expression and sensitivity to the world around us. Goodness brings attention to conduct, responsibility and the effect of our choices on others. These ideas inform an approach in which academic preparation belongs within a wider development of the individual.
We place importance on personal attention and on the relationship between educator and learner. The guru–shishya tradition is part of our educational outlook, understood as a relationship of guidance, respect and shared commitment to learning. Children bring different strengths and questions to school, and the development of those abilities requires more than the delivery of information. Creativity, leadership and confidence grow through opportunities to participate, reflect and take responsibility within the school community.
Our programme also recognises the dignity of labour and the responsibilities of citizenship. These values connect school learning with everyday life and encourage pupils to consider their relationship with the wider community. Physical and cultural development complement the academic curriculum, giving education a broader purpose than examination performance alone. The continuity of our institution since 1971 provides a historical foundation for this outlook. As an Ahmedabad school with a CBSE pathway and senior secondary Science and Commerce provision, we bring local community, academic structure and a values-oriented tradition together. Our aim is to support young people as they develop understanding, character and the ability to make considered choices beyond their school years.
