Samagra Shiksha, Chandigarh is the integrated flagship education program of the Government of India, implemented by the Chandigarh Administration to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all children from pre-primary to senior secondary levels. Functioning under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, Samagra Shiksha aims to strengthen school education through a comprehensive approach that addresses access, equity, and learning outcomes.
Headquartered at the 3rd Floor, Additional Deluxe Building, Sector-9-D, Chandigarh, Samagra Shiksha Chandigarh plays a pivotal role in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) at the UT level. The mission is to enhance learning levels by focusing on early childhood care and education (ECCE), foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), digital initiatives, teacher training, and inclusive education.
The program covers all government and government-aided schools in Chandigarh and strives to improve infrastructure, promote innovative teaching methods, and deploy technology-driven solutions to bridge learning gaps. Special attention is given to the education of girls, children with special needs (CWSN), and students from socio-economically disadvantaged groups.
