Siksha 'O' Anusandhan

We are Siksha 'O' Anusandhan, a deemed-to-be university based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Our multidisciplinary academic community includes engineering and technology, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, management, legal studies, agriculture, nursing, hospitality and tourism. These areas are organised through constituent institutes and faculties, each with its own subject focus and professional learning environment. Together, they provide a university setting that connects technical education, scientific study and the professions.

Our Institute of Technical Education and Research, known as ITER, is the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Its primary departments include civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering, computer science and information technology, and computer applications. Supporting academic departments include physics, chemistry, mathematics, humanities and social sciences, alongside specialist computing and technology areas.

Our engineering provision includes undergraduate degrees and specialised postgraduate programmes. Mechanical Engineering offers study in machine design and robotics, while other postgraduate pathways include structural engineering, embedded systems and VLSI design, electric vehicle technology and computer science and engineering. Doctoral study extends across engineering and technology, general sciences, and humanities and social sciences. The combination provides opportunities for progression from foundational technical education to specialist study and research.

Beyond ITER, our constituent institutions include the Institute of Business and Computer Studies, SOA National Institute of Law, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Agricultural Sciences and School of Hotel Management. Medical, dental and nursing education form further parts of the university. Our Mechanical Engineering department connects its educational purpose with quality teaching, investigation and the application of engineering principles. Its stated objectives include multidisciplinary teamwork, effective communication and continued professional development. This academic breadth supports a university identity centred on subject expertise, professional preparation and sustained learning.
