We are S.K.P. Engineering College, a self-financing technical institution in the Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu. Our college was established in 1999 under Sri S. Kuppusaamy Memorial Educational Trust. The founding purpose was to widen access to technical education for students from rural communities in and around Tiruvannamalai. We are approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai.
Our academic offering spans undergraduate engineering and technology, postgraduate engineering and management. Fields listed within our programme structure include civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering and information technology. Computing-related programmes also address cyber security, artificial intelligence and data science. Postgraduate study includes areas such as applied electronics, power systems, structural engineering, VLSI design and computer science, alongside management education.
Our Computer Science and Engineering department began its undergraduate programme in the 1999–2000 academic year. Its academic foundation includes programming, algorithms, data structures, operating systems, computer architecture, database management and software engineering. These subjects support an understanding of both computing systems and the processes used to develop software. The department also emphasises links between engineering fundamentals, problem solving and applications relevant to society and industry.
Mechanical engineering provides a complementary focus on physical systems, design, manufacturing and the application of scientific principles. The discipline connects mathematics, materials and physics with machines and industrial processes. Within the wider college, library facilities, laboratories, student accommodation and an industry interaction structure support academic activity. Our location at Chinnakangiyanur, near Somasipadi on NH 66, anchors this educational work in the Tiruvannamalai region. We continue to place technical knowledge and the educational aspirations of the surrounding community at the centre of our institutional purpose.
