About Springdales School Dhaula Kuan

We are Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, on Benito Juarez Marg in New Delhi. Our campus opened in 1983 with Classes II–VII and developed into a senior-secondary school within the Springdales Education Society. We follow the CBSE pathway and share the wider Springdales commitment to international understanding, social responsibility and education through participation. Our history is connected with a school movement that began in a family home in East Patel Nagar in 1955.

Springdales started with twenty-four children and three teachers, including founder Rajni Kumar. The educational society was registered in 1956 and later took the Springdales name. Our motto, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, expresses the idea of the world as one family. This outlook has influenced the place of cultural exchange, language, community awareness and cooperation in the life of the schools. The Dhaula Kuan campus became a further expression of that shared educational purpose.

International children’s festivals and cultural presentations form part of the Springdales tradition. Music, dance, theatre and collective events have long provided ways for pupils to encounter different cultures and work towards a shared performance. The first event associated with the Dhaula Kuan school was the Ranbir Sen International Children’s Festival. These experiences connect creative expression with the practice of listening, working with others and recognising a world beyond one’s immediate surroundings.

Our Dhaula Kuan campus grew under the leadership of Jyoti Bose, who first took charge when the school opened. That continuity connects the present institution with its formative years.

Our history also includes a house system, sports participation, national integration programmes and an integrated scholarship initiative. The Teachers Resource Centre established by the Society in 1980 reflected a commitment to continuing educational development. We understand these strands as parts of the same institutional identity: academic learning supported by cultural breadth, a sense of community and concern for others. At Dhaula Kuan, we carry forward this tradition within a Delhi school environment that prepares pupils for formal study and thoughtful participation in society.
