About Sri Sri Academy Siliguri

We are Sri Sri Academy Siliguri, part of the Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir Trust, the education wing of the Art of Living Foundation. Our English-medium, coeducational school is based at Dhukuria, New Chumta, Dagapur, and follows CBSE through senior secondary level. Our setting near the Himalayan foothills and tea-growing areas supports a school environment in which academic work is accompanied by values and personal development. Our current appointments are a residential TGT Mathematics teacher and a Classical Dance Teacher. Mathematics applicants require BSc or MSc with B.Ed.; relevant teaching and residential-school experience are preferred. Dance applicants need a suitable diploma or degree and an understanding of both theory and practical performance. We invite candidates to explain their subject training, classroom experience and, where relevant, their ability to contribute to the routines and responsibilities of a residential school.

Work within our school community

For TGT Maths, our work centres on mathematical reasoning and accurate problem solving.

• Build understanding of number, algebra, geometry and measurement at the level of the class, making the reasoning behind a method visible.
• Use worked examples and carefully sequenced questions to distinguish a conceptual misunderstanding from a calculation error.
• Connect symbolic work with diagrams, patterns and everyday quantities, then help learners explain how they reached an answer.

For Classical Dance Teacher, our work centres on developing movement, creative expression and performance.

• Plan dance or theatre learning around technique, expression and understanding of the form, adapted to the age and readiness of participants.
• Demonstrate movements or performance skills carefully and organise practice with attention to space, physical readiness and safe participation.
• Guide learners through rehearsal, giving clear feedback on timing, coordination, expression and the contribution of each performer.

The TGT Maths appointment is residential.
