We are The Indian School–Second Shift, located on Josip Broz Tito Marg in South Delhi. Our school offers a distinctive daily rhythm with a late-morning start, bringing academic study, creative activity and personal development together within a well-connected campus. Our educational vision combines Indian cultural roots with a global outlook and an emphasis on ethical character. We want children to develop the knowledge and confidence to engage with the world while remaining considerate of their community and environment.

The school’s motto, Knowledge is Power, expresses our belief in learning as a source of independence and understanding. Our logo draws on the Ashok pillar and the wheel of dharma, connecting strength with responsibility, movement and universality. These ideas are reflected in our emphasis on physical and emotional wellbeing, resilience and integrity. We encourage children to recognise their own strengths and find different ways to express what they understand.

Our tree-lined campus includes naturally lit and ventilated classrooms, laboratories, specialist teaching rooms and a computerised resource centre. A multipurpose auditorium and an audio-visual room provide shared spaces for assemblies, films, presentations, lectures and workshops. These facilities support a programme in which learning can take place through discussion, practical work, performance and enquiry. Green lawns and seasonal planting contribute to the setting in which pupils spend their school day.

Our approach gives importance to individual attention and a caring atmosphere. The later start is intended to support a less hurried beginning to the day, with time for breakfast and family interaction. We see parents, children and educators as participants in the learning process. Freedom to express, create and collaborate helps pupils move from collecting information towards making sense of it. Academic, sporting, cultural and creative experiences are therefore connected parts of our educational offering.
