About The Millennium School Dubai

We are The Millennium School, Dubai, a GEMS Education school established in 2000. We follow the CBSE curriculum while educating children in the local context of the United Arab Emirates. Our community includes families from different Indian states and cultural backgrounds, and our curriculum connects this diversity with a wider international outlook. We aim to develop independent learners who can make meaningful connections between subjects and the world around them.

Our kindergarten approach combines the Little GEMS curriculum with elements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Reggio Emilia practice. Communication, vocabulary, exploration and creative expression are important at this stage. Children encounter ideas through activity and interaction, developing the foundations needed for later learning. The intention is to help them become confident participants in a classroom community while respecting their different starting points.

At later stages, the CBSE academic pathway is enriched by the UAE’s educational requirements, including UAE Social Studies, Moral Education, Arabic and Islamic Education as applicable. Research, field visits, collaboration and practical activity help connect these areas with pupils’ lived environment. We want students to understand their surroundings and the responsibilities of belonging to a diverse society, alongside the subject knowledge needed for further education.

Our curriculum also gives attention to the relationship between global issues and the local environment. This is particularly relevant to a Dubai school community whose pupils maintain Indian cultural connections while growing up in the UAE.

Our Kindergarten Self Enhancement Programme and wider Self Enhancement Programme provide additional learning experiences beyond the standard timetable. These opportunities extend the ways in which children can explore interests, develop abilities and apply knowledge. We see academic education and broader development as connected. The Dubai setting, the CBSE pathway and the GEMS educational community together give our school its particular character. Through subject study, enrichment and attention to communication and wellbeing, we aim to help pupils become thoughtful, capable learners prepared for a changing world.
