We are Tribhuvan Sahkari University in Anand, Gujarat, established at the Institute of Rural Management Anand through an Act of Parliament in 2025. The university is an Institution of National Importance dedicated to technical and management education, research, training and capacity building for the cooperative sector. Named after Tribhuvandas K. Patel, its development extends the educational legacy associated with rural management in Anand.
IRMA was founded in 1979 under the leadership of Dr. Verghese Kurien, with support from organizations connected with the dairy-development and cooperative movement. Its purpose was shaped by the need for professional management in large programmes serving rural communities. The university's cooperative focus builds on that relationship between management capabilities, community-oriented enterprise and rural development.
Our academic mission includes professionalizing cooperative activity through skill development, research, entrepreneurship and leadership grounded in cooperative values. The intended educational provision spans degree, diploma and certificate programmes in cooperative and allied areas. Research and capacity-building activities are also part of the university's mandate, alongside the development of centres of excellence.
Current Academic Associate opportunities cover General Management in the Vice-Chancellor's Secretariat and Social Sciences. These roles call for different postgraduate backgrounds, while both value English communication, information-technology skills and relevant academic or professional experience. The management role additionally emphasizes careful handling of institutional information, proficiency with office tools and the ability to coordinate multiple activities. The social-sciences role relates to disciplines such as economics and development studies. Our careers page explains these contractual appointments separately, with their individual closing dates and application requirements. It connects the opportunities with the university's cooperative and rural-management identity while allowing applicants to identify the role that best matches their academic preparation.
