About Universal School Ghatkopar

We are The Universal School in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, based on Tilak Road. Established in 2005, our school offers Cambridge and IB Diploma pathways. We want students to develop curiosity, resilience and an understanding of their place in the wider world. Academic work is accompanied by sporting and other activities, while the senior programme considers intellectual, social, emotional and physical development together. Our current School Counsellor appointment is for the Ghatkopar campus’s IGCSE environment. The role supports children within the demands and opportunities of an international school programme. We invite candidates to explain their counselling preparation, experience of working with school-age pupils and approach to collaboration with teachers and families. For School Counsellor, our work centres on supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and participation in school.

• Listen to and assess concerns within the professional boundaries of a school counselling role, giving attention to the pupil’s context and needs.
• Provide appropriate individual or group support and help pupils develop practical ways to manage school, personal or behavioural difficulties.
• Coordinate with teachers and families where appropriate, maintaining confidentiality and sharing information only through suitable professional channels.
• Keep accurate records of support, follow-up and referrals, recognising when concerns need specialist or safeguarding escalation.
• Contribute to a school environment in which pupils can seek support and adults can recognise concerns early.
