Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, formerly known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), is one of India’s premier engineering institutions. Established in 1960 and named after the eminent engineer and Bharat Ratna awardee Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, VNIT is among the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and holds the status of an Institute of National Importance, conferred by the Government of India.
