Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Drawing and Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Art, or Fine Arts from a recognized university with at least 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. Degree with minimum 50% marks from an NCTE-recognized institution is mandatory.

Experience Required:

  • While no minimum experience is explicitly mentioned, candidates with prior experience in art instruction will be preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in conducting art classes and exhibitions is an advantage.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach and develop students’ artistic skills across various mediums like drawing, painting, sculpture, and graphic design.
  • Organize and guide students in art competitions and exhibitions.
  • Develop lesson plans and art curriculum in line with CBSE guidelines.
  • Promote creativity and aesthetics through classroom and school-level activities.
  • Maintain art supplies and ensure safe usage of materials.


Selection Process:

  • Walk-in Interview
  • Candidates must bring original documents and one set of photocopies for verification.
  • In case of high applicant volume, a shortlisting exam may be conducted on the same day.

Important Notes:

  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  • Selection is purely on a contractual basis for the academic session 2025–26.

Kendriya Vidyalaya No.5 Bathinda Cantt came into existence in November 1987 to provide opportunities through quality education. A co-educational school with unity in diversity is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Students take the AISSE (Class X) and AISSCE (Class XII) examinations in the month of March every year.

Mission and main objectives of KVS

  1. To meet the educational needs of the children of transferable Central Government employees including Defence and Para-Military personnel by providing a common programme of education.

  3. To initiate and promote experimentation and innovations in education in collaboration with other bodies like Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) etc.

To provide, establish, support, maintain, control and manage schools, hereinafter referred to as 'Kendriya Vidyalayas', for the children of transferable employees of the Government of India, temporary population and others including those residing in remote and underdeveloped places in the country and to do all acts and things necessary to promote such schools.
