Established in 1987 with just three branches approved by AICTE, Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College (VMKVEC) has grown into a premier institution dedicated to shaping the future of aspiring engineers and technologists. Initially affiliated with the University of Madras and Periyar University, and later with Anna University, VMKVEC became a constituent college of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) in 2004.

Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), founded in 2001, was conferred its status by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, based on UGC recommendations (under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956). Accredited with an 'A' grade by NAAC, the university is recognized for maintaining the highest academic standards and providing world-class infrastructure to foster excellence in education.
Comprehensive Academic Programs
Currently, VMKVEC offers 10 undergraduate (UG) and 8 postgraduate (PG) programs, along with an MBA in various specializations, catering to over 2,500 students pursuing careers in Engineering, Technology, and Management. Our faculty comprises experienced, dedicated professionals committed to imparting knowledge that bridges the gap between academia and industry.

We have established a state-of-the-art Joint Training Centre in collaboration with Bosch Ltd., Bangalore, offering hands-on training and real-world exposure to emerging technologies.
Additionally, we have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading multinational companies and premier research institutions, including Infosys, Intel Technology India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, NIT Trichy, IISc Bangalore, and various renowned research laboratories. Our faculty and students are actively engaged in innovation through the “Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College Business Incubator," established in 2015. This incubator plays a vital role in encouraging students to submit their ideas, incubate them, and further develop them into working prototypes, which are then presented to MSME and other financial agencies for funding. Additionally, the incubator facilitates technology transfer, ensuring that innovative solutions reach real-world applications.
