Jeev Subramaniam Memorial Educational Trust was set up to perpetuate the memory and wish of Late Shri. Subramaniam Pillai and Late. Smt. Jeevratnam Pillai, to transform the lives of children by providing them affordable, quality and unbiased education.
During their lifetime, Late Shri. Subramaniam Pillai and Late. Smt. Jeevratnam Pillai always found education to be an essential medium through which a child's life could be changed for the good; and in having believed so, they spent their spare time educating the children in the neighbourhood.
Over the years, they educated, taught and transformed the lives of multiple children. In order to widen and strengthen the scope of their outreach, they wished to set up an educational institution through which they could educate and teach children formally and effectively.
Late Shri. Subramaniam Pillai and Late. Smt. Jeevratnam Pillai and their sons and daughters founded Jeev Subramaniam Memorial Educational Trust and started Sungrace Schools with modest beginnings and the collective resolve to provide formal, affordable and quality education to children coming from lower income backgrounds. After the sudden demise of Late Shri. Subramaniam Pillai and Late. Smt. Jeevratnam Pillai, their sons and daughters carried forward their efforts and wishes and have been running educational institutions in Pune, under the name of "Sungrace" and under the aegis of the Trust.
We are sad to inform you of the sad demise of our Founder Trustee and Principal – Ms. Shashikala Subramaniam Pillai, on January 26th,2020. She set the foundation of the school and worked dedicatedly over the years for the growth of the school and the students. She was a pillar of strength and support to the management and staff and she will be fondly remembered and missed. We pray for her to rest in peace.

Jeev Subramaniam Memorial Educational Trust ("JSMET") was founded in 1992, by the Pillai Family to perpetuate the memory of their parents Late Shri. Subramaniam Pillai and Late Smt. Jeevratnam Pillai and their collective desire to provide formal, affordable and quality education to children from the lower income groups.
JSMET has grown over the years with various educational institutions in Pune under its aegis providing quality education to almost 3000 students coming from diverse economic, social, linguistic backgrounds. The educational institutions are government recognized, permanently unaided, linguistic minority, private institutions, being run under the name of "Sungrace Schools & Jr. College", in accordance with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (S.S.C and H.S.C Board).
