Position Summary:
Valistus International School is seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher (Vocal & Instrumentalist) to join our Performing Arts department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in both vocal and instrumental music instruction, with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. The teacher will design and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with the International curriculum while also preparing students for performances, assessments, and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement a well-structured music curriculum aligned with the International curriculum guidelines.
· Teach vocal techniques, choral singing, and individual vocal training across various genres.
· Instruct students in playing different instruments, with proficiency in at least one instrument.
· Prepare students for music performances, concerts, and competitions, fostering stage confidence.
· Incorporate music theory, history, and appreciation into lessons to enhance students' understanding of music.
· Organize and lead school choir, orchestra, or band, encouraging musical collaboration.
· Maintain school musical instruments, ensuring their proper care and functionality.
· Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures creativity and artistic expression.
· Actively participate in school events, assemblies, and cultural programs.
· Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and musical expertise.
Qualifications & Experience:
· A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music, Performing Arts, or a related field.
· Strong communication and classroom management skills.
· Passion for music education and commitment to fostering students' artistic growth.
· Professional training in both vocal and instrumental music.
· Minimum of 2-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
· Proficiency in music notation software and technology integration in music education.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
· Experience conducting choirs, ensembles and musical productions.
· Enthusiasm for developing extracurricular music programs, clubs, and workshops.
· Strong organizational skills and adaptability to different student learning styles.
