Role Description
This is a contract remote role for a Phonics Teacher to teach live classes. The Phonics Teacher will be responsible for conducting phonics lessons in an online live class setting to a group of children. Tasks also include assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and communicating with parents.
Responsibilities
- Plan & Deliver Live Phonics Lessons: Conduct interactive Zoom sessions for children aged 3–6 using a clear, structured phonics curriculum.
- Customize Teaching Approach: Adjust lessons to accommodate different learning styles and pace.
- Create an Engaging Classroom Environment: Use storytelling, games, and activities to maintain high participation and excitement.
- Track Student Progress: Keep records of attendance and skill development; provide feedback to parents.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work with curriculum developers to refine lesson materials and share ideas for continuous improvement.
- Conduct Demo Classes: Conduct demo classes to interested parents to showcase the capability of the phonics course.
Qualifications
- Communication: Excellent spoken and written English skills; clear, patient, and animated in class delivery.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, Linguistics, or a related field (preferred).
- Teaching Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience teaching phonics or early literacy to young children (online teaching experience is a plus).
- Certifications/Training: Familiarity with Jolly Phonics or other structured phonics programs is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable with Zoom or similar video conferencing tools; able to manage digital learning materials.
- Availability: Able to teach multiple live sessions weekly - 6 hrs commitment/week (flexible scheduling possible).
