About the Opportunity:

Chandigarh University is pleased to invite distinguished academic professionals to apply for the esteemed position of Pro Vice Chancellor – Research & Development. This pivotal role is aimed at accelerating the university’s vision to become a globally recognized research-driven institution. The selected leader will play a central role in strengthening the university’s research infrastructure, promoting innovation, and driving high-impact outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Strengthening and overseeing all aspects of Ph.D. programs, including mentoring scholars and improving program structure.
  • Enhancing research output through high-quality publications, funded projects, and industrial consultancy.
  • Establishing and providing strategic direction to Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in cutting-edge and interdisciplinary domains.
  • Leading the university’s efforts in patent filing, intellectual property rights (IPR), and commercialization of research.
  • Scaling the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) to encourage research-led entrepreneurship and startups.
  • Fostering collaborations with national and international institutions, government bodies, and industry partners to broaden research impact.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Ph.D. degree from a reputed national or international institution.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in academic and research leadership roles.
  • Proven record in developing research policies, attracting funding, and driving innovation strategies.
  • Demonstrated excellence through publications, patents, grants, and collaborative projects.
  • Experience in managing large-scale research initiatives and diverse research teams.
