UPL University of Sustainable Technology has been established by inclusion in the Schedule vide Section 3 (8) of Gujarat Private University Act 2009 (amended by Gujarat Act No.15 of 2021) which came into force on 1st June 2021, vide Notification No. GH/SH/81/EPU/ 2020/10012020/KH-I dated 2/6/2021 of Government of Gujarat. It is empowered to confer degrees under Section 22 of UGC Act 1956.
UPL University of Sustainable Technology has been established by Ankleshwar Rotary Education Society (ARES) to place Gujarat and India at one of the best education places of the World. The journey of UPL University of Sustainable Technology is started way back in 2011 with the establishment of Shroff S.R.Rotary Institute of Chemical Technology (SRICT) conducting UG (B.E.) courses in engineering in affiliation with GTU and approval of AICTE, New Delhi. The institute has also developed two special industry focused courses. They are (i) Chemical Technology having four different specializations viz. Pharmaceutical Technology, Dyes & Pigments Technology, Polymer & Rubber Technology, and Glass & Ceramic Technology, (ii) Environmental Science & Technology. Both the disciplines of the UG course have a perfect blend of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and a concerned special Technology. For building as a research culture, the PG (M.E.) courses in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering were also started in 2015, followed by a PG (M.Sc.) course in Organic Chemistry in 2018 and that in Environmental Management in 2020. From 2021, University has also started Diploma Level Program (Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering & Environment Engineering) and B.E. Computer Engineering. Both institutes are providing quality education in the field of Engineering and Science respectively. SRICT is one of the top engineering institutes of Gujarat and SRICT –ISR is one of the most favorite PG centers for M.Sc. in South Gujarat. Both the institutes are providing 100 % placement to all eligible students. ARES management has decided to start a Diploma Programs in Information Technology and Post Graduate ( M.E.) Program in Electrical Engineering and UG program (B.Sc.) Microbiology from academic year 2022-23.
From 2022, we started Full time and part time Ph.D. Programs in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Physics and English. We are also motivating research scholars for Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research.
The forte of the institute is its expertise in excellent teaching practices, industry connects, and job placement to all its eligible students. Research and consultancy in Environmental projects is another salient feature that has been cultivated by the management among faculty members in a relatively short span of time. Excellent academics and personal care of students have made them outshine, many others in the university exams with awards of University Gold Medals many times. We, at University, are also serving many industries via our Schedule-1 Environmental Audit, Energy Audit, 5S (Workplace Management), R & D, Tailor-made Training Programs to Industries. We have NABL accredited Environmental lab, NBA Accredited Programs (BE Chemical Engineering, BE Environmental Science & Technology and BE Mechanical Engineering). Shroff. S. R. Rotary Institute of Chemical Technology (SRICT) is accredited by NAAC with B++. SRICT is also awarded with 4Star ( ) from Gujarat State Institutional Ranking Framework (GSIRF) in 2021 and 2022.
We developed Centre of Excellence in Process Safety which provides consultancy to Industries for 3D Modelling, Qualitative & Quantitative Risk Analysis Study, Process Hazard Identification, Safety Training, Certificate and Diploma courses to Students and Industry persons.
