Job Description:

Qualifications Required:

  • Trained Post Graduate or Graduate in the relevant subject
  • B.Ed. is mandatory

  • Fluency in English is a must

Vidya Prasarak Mandal Group of Institutions

The Vidya Prasarak Mandal (Regd.), an educational trust, was established on March 26, 1960, by Kannada-speaking linguistic minorities originally from Karnataka. Its initial purpose was to manage the Kannada Primary School, founded in 1957. In 1962, the trust expanded by establishing a Kannada High School. A decade later, an English Pre-Primary and Primary School was launched, which eventually grew into B.R. Tol English High School in 1976. The trust's growth continued with the establishment of a Junior College in 1991 and a Degree College of Arts, Science, and Commerce in 2003, which earned an ‘A’ grade in its first NAAC cycle.

In June 2005, VPM’s National Integration School began operations, formally inaugurated on June 28, 2005, by Justice B.N. Srikrishna, a long-time Life member of VPM and a Senior Supreme Court Judge at the time. Responding to the increasing demand for ICSE education, the school was renamed VPM’s Smt. Indira Arvinda Menon International School (ICSE) and recently completed a major expansion project, adding two additional floors to the building.

VPM schools are renowned for academic excellence. Kannada High School primarily serves economically disadvantaged students, with notable achievements like Ms. Jyoti Ganagi securing the 16th rank in the SSC exam in 2001 without coaching classes. She later ranked second in B.Com at Mumbai University in 2005. Over the last 25 years, B.R. Tol English High School has consistently achieved 100% results, with six students making the merit list in 2000-01, earning the school second place among schools with the rank holders. The Junior College, despite primarily serving students who do not secure admission to the Degree College, has achieved a 98% pass rate in Science and Commerce over the past seven years. VPM, the second-oldest educational trust founded by Kannadigas in Mumbai, celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2007, inaugurated by then Governor of Maharashtra, Prof. S.M. Krishna, with Justice B.N. Srikrishna presiding.

Major Donors

The Karnataka Government contributed ₹4.5 lakhs for the school building, and the Maharashtra Government donated ₹1 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Fund for the school auditorium. Additionally, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Bombay granted ₹75,000 for the auditorium. Dr.Sudha Murthy of the Infosys Foundation donated ₹20 lakhs, while the Karnataka Government

provided ₹30 lakhs in 2008 for the development of VPM’s National Integration School in Airoli and redevelopment of the Mulund East school building.

Prominent Visitors

VPM has been honored by visits from notable figures, including Dr. Rafiq Zakaria, Shri Madhukar Rao Chaudhari, and Shri Ramrao Adik from Maharashtra, as well as Shri A.R. Badrinarayan, Shri S.R.Bommai, and Shri B.S. Yeddyurappa from Karnataka, who visited on August 8, 2008. Renowned literary personalities such as Dr. Shivaram Karanth and Padmashri K.K. Hebbar, along with distinguished academics, police officers, and international delegates, have also graced the institution.
