The sapling planted in the year 1977 has bloomed into a full fledged school of plus two level having over 2800 students and over 120 staff members.
Burnpur Riverside School is the only English Medium School in the Burnpur Area run and managed by Burnpur Riverside School Educational Society. It is affiliated to CBSE, Delhi. At Senior Secondary level, students have choice of either Commerce or Science. With many achievements to its credit, its acclaim and fame has reached far and wide. RESOURCE ROOM
An air conditioned conference hall has been set up with the latest multimedia facilities where lessons are imparted with educational CD’s to clear concepts .This Conference hall is used for various workshops, seminars, PTM’s, etc..
ENGLISH LANGUAGE LAB AND AUDIO VISUAL ROOM
An English Language Lab and Audio Visual Room have been set up to enhance the communication skill, speaking, proficiency and all around development of the students in English Language.
LIBRABRY
The school has a well furnished air conditioned library. Students come here to spend some quality time in the world of books. There are more than 25000 books in the library. Apart from the school library, each class has a small class library which is managed by the students themselves.
TOY ROOM
It is the wonderland of the tiny tots where they express themselves through various toys. They enjoy themselves in the world of innocence and comfort.
Children’s Park
A place where the little angles can have a gala time amidst the green world. Sea-saws, slides, swings etc. provides co for enjoyment.
COMPUTER & IT LAB
The infrastructure of two Computer and IT Labs offer students with the latest technology. These two well furnished air conditioned rooms provide computers to the students in the ratio 1:1.
SCIENCE LAB
The infrastructure of the science labs(Physics, Chemistry and Biology) allow the students with the latest apparatus and amenities to high end scientific experiments.
BIO-TECH LAB
It is no exaggeration to say that Biology is now undergoing “neutron movement”. The techno-hub of the school is its bio-tech lab the favorite haunt of students.
MATHS LAB
The school has a well equipped Maths lab to make Mathematics an interesting subject and to overcome the “Mathofobia”.
MUSIC ROOM
Aesthetically equipped with the variety of musical instruments it is the place where children get training both in vocal and instrumental music through trained teachers.

BRS can boast of its centralized communication system i.e. digital mike system in all class rooms, staff rooms, laboratories and library for morning assembly and announcements.
ANNUAL FUNCTION
Bringing the curtains down on the academic year is the grand finale-The Annual Function. It includes dance, musical performances and dramatics. It is also a platform to recognize the scholastic and co-scholastic achievements.

BRS believes that reward is the greatest motivator. Keeping this in mind BRS awards the students for their achievements in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities.

SCHOOL MAGAZINE
The school magazine “Excelsior” and BRS bulletin provide students with an opportunity and develop their writing skill. The “Excelsior” is an endeavor of the young talents of BRS to unfold their innovative minds. It is also a platform for these youngsters emerge out with their creativity.

PREPARATION FOR COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION
The school provides coaching classes for various competitive examinations viz. JEE, NTSE, IIT, PMT & CBSE Medical and other major exams for Medical/Engg. Studies. This acts as a dual grind for them.
PARENT-TEACHER MEETING
It is necessary to keep in touch with parents and give them a feedback of the ward’s progress. Hence the Parent-Teacher meeting schedule after every three months.
IN-SERVICE TEACHERS’ TRAINING PROGRAMME
In order to upgrade the teachers with latest developments in education system the BRS faculty is constantly exposed to seminars, workshops and various in-service teachers’ training programmes.

BRS provides the students maximum opportunity to participate in various games like Throw ball, Football, Tenniquoit, Carron, Cricket, Table Tennis, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Chess, Basketball and Badminton. Children are actively involved in various sports activities on zonal, state, national levels and have brought many laurels home.
