The IB Floater Teacher role is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to work across different grade levels and subject areas within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), or Diploma Programme (DP), depending on school requirements. The floater teacher supports regular classroom teachers by substituting during their absence and contributes to curriculum delivery, student engagement, and the maintenance of academic standards across various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging lessons aligned with IB curriculum standards across multiple subjects and grades.
Maintain continuity of learning during teacher absences by following established lesson plans and ensuring classroom management.
Collaborate with grade-level and subject-specific teachers to understand curriculum requirements and contribute effectively.
Provide academic support, monitor student progress, and offer constructive feedback.
Encourage inquiry-based learning and critical thinking skills in line with the IB philosophy.
Support co-curricular and extracurricular school activities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Graduation or Post-Graduation in any discipline along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is mandatory.
Prior teaching experience in IB schools (PYP, MYP, or DP) will be highly preferred.
Strong command of English and effective classroom management skills are essential.
Ability to adapt to different grade levels and subject requirements with flexibility.
Minimum 2–3 years of relevant teaching experience is desirable.
